Hi,
Well, a few days ago I bought SoundBlaste Live! Player 5.1. Is it possible to control the sound that comes out from the front and the rear line out for the purposes of a DJ? Let me explain with an example. Let's say that I have opened two instances of the Winamp. Let me call them "Winamp 1" and "Winamp 2". With "Winamp 1" I playback song X and I listen it throught the Front Line Out of the SBlive. With "Winamp 2" I playback song Y and I listen it throught the Rear Line Out. Which means... can I direct one song only to the front line out and another song only to the rear line out? All I want to do is to connect these outputs to an external mixer and use my computer as it was two playback devices. Can I do this with this sound card? Thanks in advance for your time Christos |

Hi, privateer98
If its the same as the SB live, its not possible. Winamp's output is two-channel stereo. In your mixer, there is only one Wav/DirectX channel, and its only stereo. All Winamps you can open get merged into it. You can't separate them back. The solution would be a 3D sound EAX output plugin for Winamp, allowing to choose front/rear playing. You can use another soundcard, and configure two Winamps, one with each soundcard. I've also seen a DJ mixing plugin in the output plugins section, allowing to crossfade between two Winamps, check also Pacemaker tempo controller in the dsp plugins section, they may help you to mix with one soundcard. You can mix CD and mp3 : in the audioHQ, go to "speaker" set "4 speaker", then, on the picture, drag and drop the wav to the front, and the CD to the rear. But you can't with mp3's only Pio2001 Pio2001 |

Thanks for taking the trouble to answer me :-)
Do you know if it's on the way to create such a 3D Sound EAX output plugin? I 'm quite interesting in that since two sound card conflict on my computer. I had tried to work both my motherboard's (onboard PCI) sound card and the SBlive and it didn't work out. I was listening only one of them at a time but not simultaneously. When I can't have different outputs it's not ok for I want to pre-listen to the next song I'm about to mix. Using CD and mp3 it's a very good idea but it should require too many CDs and the loss of mp3's convenience. Obviously, the best way is the development of this type of plugin (3D sound EAX output plugin). Anyway, thanks again Christos |

I've never seen any EAX plugin, but there's an A3D one at http://www.winamp.com/customize/deta...ponentId=10267 !
If the Live player 5.1 supports A3D, its OK. My old live! doesn't. I wonder, I think there is an A3D emulation in LiveWare3. You may have it with your live player. Anyway, just try it! Let's hope it works, much people want it. Pio2001 |
