The pink blotches and scrambles are video codec related. VP6 isn't the stablest codec in the world, so if you get a bad keyframe you will get those pink blotches you are talking about. Sometimes if its a REALLY bad keyframe you get the entire thing as purple and green blotches. If its a live stream, check to make sure that the encoding isn't using too much of the CPU, if its not live encoding then check the original files and perhaps encode them using Best if your not doing so already.
