sc_trans_linux and blanks in filenames

Thanks, FC, you were right, it was the relative path. Although the files reside in the directory I indicated and I called sc_trans_linux from a direcory where the resultion of that path led to the proper target it seems as if sc_trans doesn't like relative paths in general. I changed them to absolute (i.e. full paths) and now it works!
