When you added the new harddrive did you make that your primary hard drive?? Or does the old hard drive still have the operating system and the program files on it? If this is the case then Winamp shouldn't have been affected. If Winamp doesn't run, and it appears nowhere in the add/remove programs box, then all you have to do is find the Winamp folder (usually c:\program files\Winamp) and delete the folder along with the contents. then download Winamp again and install it.

It shouldn't cause problems. When you were using the old hard drive, Winamp was installed on it and it interacted with the registry that was on the OLD hard drive. From what you tell me, you installed the operating system on the NEW hard drive. This new hard drive now contains a new registry, and the old one isn't used. Thats why when you go into ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, Winamp doesn't appear. From the point of view of the computer, it's not installed on it. So just delete the old Winamp folder and reinstall.
What you should do is just wipe the old hard drive completly, making sure to back up any files taht you would like to keep to the new hard drive first. Like my photography? Buy some here.... |

how does it "not install". Do you get an error message?
If all else fails Install winAMP to its previous location and then un-install it. |

I think ethan_h is pretty much on the right tracks, though just to make sure:
Try this: "Start -> Run" :type in: "x:\program files\winamp\winamp.exe" /uninstall (where x is the letter of your old drive, usually c) This should work. Now simply install v2.72 to your new drive. |
