Hi
I've split your post from the sticky thread, mainly because it requires a proper reply, and also so I can copy it over to the internal bugtracker. Yes, there's definitely a bug there. The Devices menu shouldn't even be listed under that menu any more, at least not unless there's some Device plugin installed which calls it. eg. I've got the gusb plugin installed, so all I see under View > Devices menu are my hard drives and usb flash drives. When I remove/disable the gusb plugin, then yes, the View > Devices menu then behaves exactly the same as in your screenshot, ie. it just displays all the root nodes from the Media Library. And yes, clicking on any of those sub menus works, except for Rip & Burn, which does absolutely nothing (which is probably something to do with the "&" sign). Ideally, the Devices view should no longer be there (unless a plugin like gusb is present, which calls it), and ideally, Portables, Online Services and Rip & Burn should be listed as roots under the View menu instead (though it depends on whether those components/plugins are actually installed, and whether those menus are dynamic or hard-coded/static). Anyway... that's the bug issue taken care of... now on to your fix. Basically, it looks to me like you've moved the vertical separator all the way to the left, so you can't see the left pane of the media library. If you place your mouse cursor just underneath the "F" from the File menu, and move it down a little, you'll see the cursor eventually change to a double-sided arrow (pointing horizontally left & right). Now click & drag that separator rightwards, and you'll see the left pane of the media library appear, ie. the pane which runs all the way down the left side and lists all the Root nodes (Now Playing, Recent Items, Bookmarks, Local Media, Playlists, Rip & Burn, Online Services, Portables, Shoutcast Wire). And here is where you select your CD Drive under "Rip & Burn", so that you can rip your CDs. |
