"Now Playing" window with shoutcast radio

Hello,

When I listen to Radio Paradise through Winamp 5.2 and click on the now playing tab, I see radio paradise website within the media library browser window. The radio paradise page keeps refreshing itself every 10-15 seconds, and when I click on a link on the page, it keeps returning to the main radio paradise page. Is there a way to stop it from refreshing itself?

Know what you're talking about Virtualkieth and don't think there is anything you can do about it from this end, it's controled serverside.
Sites are given the opportunity to do this so they can update track info etc. but that one is a bit OTT and doing it every 15 secs or so. It also refreshes the page.
Others update every minute which is OK as long as they don't refresh at the same time.
The system is really designed to operate on each track change, but is open to abuse.

There are even some sites(audiocandy for example) that will completely hijack the system to the point that Winamp's own album info service is permanently replaced by theirs (use <Ctrl+Alt+R> with the window in focus to reset).

Only thing I can suggest is that you e-mail the site and point out the problem.

I've never used the 'Now Playing' feature, especially for radio because it is prone to this sort of thing.
[edit] I think automatic opening is now permanently disabled for radio streams in the preferences to avoid this sort of thing.

Are you aware of the 'Station Info' window(Winamp's right click menu), this will give track info and a direct link to the station website, but is only available if you start the stream from Winamp's Shoucast page.

I'll confess right not that I am no computer genius. I can only tell you that there was a time when things worked out right, and I can't tell you what I did differently when I noticed the site refreshing itself so often.
I am aware of the Station Info window, and will probably end up using it until I can find a solution to this problem. I can only say that it was convenient for me to access the station info through the Music Library Now playing window.
It's no big deal, and I'll continue to play with it because at one time it was working well. Just not sure what I did to change that.

You don't have anything set wrongly

.
What you are seeing is something controled by the broadcaster, not Winamp. If things have changed for you then it is the broadcaster that has altered the way it operates, not you.
