Hi there,

I have some MP3's burned on CD-R. The filenames are miscellaneous, the ID3-Tags are also.

Now I created a playlist in WinAmp and saved it on my HARDDISK. I opened the m3u-file and saw that there are two lines for every song: the song title and the location (in that case, on CD-R).

The song title comes either from the ID3-tag or from the filename.

My question / problem: i want to change the songtitles shown in the playlist. Therefore I edited the m3u-file and activated write-protection after that. But WinAmp still takes the song-titles from the ID3-Tag or from the filename.
Is there a solution to this problem ? Is there any option that allows to switch the use of there tags off and to use ONLY the contents of the playlist file ?

Thanks for all help !

Chris

P.S.: I'm using WinAmp 2.64

goto winamp's preferences, highlight mpeg audio decoder under input and goto title in it's configuration

you can disable the use of id3 tags and edit the title formatting

You have to edit the mp3s on the CD, either their filenames or their ID3 tags.
