While Winamp is not running go to the Winamp folder and make sure Winamp.ini and Studio.xnf are not set to read only (right click on file > Properties > General tab). If you have multi-user setup for Winamp, the files will be located at C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Winamp

Note: The Application Data folder is hidden by default, so you may need to checkmark "show hidden files/folders" in: Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab

No luck or that is not it? Please provide system specs.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

I have this same problem....quite bothersome. It also doesn't save my opacity settings. This happens whether there is a file playing or if it's stopped. I already tried a clean reinstall and checked for read only.

Here are my specs:

-custom PC, Elite motherboard
-AMD 2000XP, 1024mb ram
-Audigy 2
-ATI 9700
-WinXP sp2
-DX 9.0c
-Winamp version 5.2

Plug-ins:
ActiveWinamp 1.0
AutoHalt 2.0
Dynamic Library v1.03
JTFE .97R-type build 16
mp3cue 5.0
resumer plug-in 1.2
save file as v1.0
skins in submenu v1.3b
tips v.04

@ Gelo_USA

At first I could not reproduce this issue. However, after another attempt this has been reproduced on my default and clean install of Winamp. It seems to only occur when both the main/player and playlist editor are in docked toolbar mode. Reproduced with different docked settings (auto-hide, always on top, position). Also the playlist can be in "full" or WindowShade docked mode.

Winamp 5.2 Full (not "per user" account/profile installs)
Modern Default Skin
Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2
DirectX 9.0c
Dell Dimension 4550
Video NVIDIA GeForce MX 420 (nView disabled)
SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Analog Devices, Inc.)
Pentium 4 2.0GHz
256MB Ram

Apparently we are not the only ones experiencing the issue...

@ lonesoulost3

Are you saying this issue occurs with docked toolbar mode?

Yeah. I use the Skin LayerOne v1.3 in both docked playlist (left) and toolbar (top). I also have my opacity for both set at 80% with 'opaque on hover' for the playlist. Both are set to "always on top" and "always hide"
---

EDIT!
I followed NyNE's first post "*yet another edit* at this thread: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=237974

Winamp remembers now...but very strange. Still something to look into I think. No conclusion was reached in the previous post because no one could replicate the problem.

@ Gelo_USA

Check the link to the thread in my previous post - it may do the fix even though it's a round about way.

I believe what lonesoulost3 is referring to is this part of NyNe's post.

I am unable to reproduce the issue if only one of the windows are docked.
