The Minibrowser and Station Info functions

In the past few versions of winamp (free), I have not seen the minibrowser function. Is it available only in the Pro version now?

What is the Stationi Info window for? Every time I select it, nothing is displayed.

The minibrowser was renamed ("Now playing") and moved to the Winamp library. This change was made in Winamp 5.0.

If you haven't installed the library, then you have no minibrowser.

Station info shows infos about the current playing station. I don't like it, and think it blows up Winamp, so I'm using Dro's Die Browser Die plugin.

The Station Info function never shows any info. All I ever see is a blank (Station Info) screen when I try to use it. Does it need to be activated somehow?

If you play a shoutcast stream the window appears automatically unless you've changed the settings in Preferences -> Station Info

All 3 of the options are checked but the Station Info is always blank and never launches itself when I start up a stream.

Have you changed any options in the Internet Explorer settings?

Works fine here, also try a clean install.

It doesn't matter what default browser your are using.

All Winamp online content is shown in the embed Internet Explorer.

Then which Internet Explorer settings are you talking about? I finally got the minibroswer to work but the station info screen is black (well red given this skin that I just downloaded).

Maybe you've changed the settings of the zones or you've disabled all scripting.

Also try a clean install of Winamp, maybe this help,

zones?

It's not that important. I'd just like to know why it won't work. It never has worked for me since it was included.

zones?
I don't know how is called in English Windows versions, the German description is "Zonen" so I guess in English "Zones" maybe I'm wrong.

Send a message via AIM to Mr_Sako
he's saying that winamp interacts with internet explorer to display the mini browser(now playing) stuff, and perhaps some internet explorer option is causing winamp to not function with the mini browser properly

try updating internet explorer or frehs installing it, also try fresh installing winamp

I just won't bother with it cause it's not worth doing a fresh install of IE. I don't use IE anyway. I did a fresh install of winamp and it's still a blank screen. It's not that important a feature. I was just curiuos why it wasn't displaying anything.

Station Info works from the Online Media Shoutcast listings only. It's necessary for Winamp to have some sort of station reference to get the SI. i.e. the station has to be started from the shoutcast page.

If you are starting the stream from the Playlist Editor, Play > URL, Bookmarks etc. (anything that is just the plain URL) then the SI will have no station reference and come up empty.

You shouldn't make a fresh install of IE but a fresh install of Winamp, as you already did.

*confused look*

I am the one that's doing the streaming so the only way that I know to start the stream is from the winamp.
