avs.bmp hasn't been used on winamp for about 2 years now, it was replaced by gen.bmp and gen_ex.bmp in winamp 2.9 and for all winamp5 releases, this provides a common framed window for all non standard component windows, like avs, media library etc etc

Details here.

I'm also going to guess that if you don't have gen.bmp/gen_ex.bmp in your skin, you might not also have video.bmp which also came in at the same time.

just fill those parts with a color your not going to use, like lime green say
and you need a transparency tool, you can find one over at 1001 winap skins under the skin tools section

That's not a skin, it's some god awful piece of skinner gunk. Fail. - Mr Jones

Don't forget , transparancy in classic skins only works on the main window, eq, main shade and eq shade.

Can't be done on any other window.

I always code my own by hand!!

used a transparency tool once but I didnt like the way the file is 100x bigger than it needs to be, rather than making a whole section transparent they make the each transparent pixel a section

try maxims, its easier, just fill the parts you want lime green, open the main file in the transparency editor then just click on one part of the lime green and you just click go than save in the skins folder

Did you actually use the region generator or just colour your bmp in lime green and hope for the best?

Go here...
http://www.smspower.org/maxim/winamp/

Download the region generator by maxim
Run
Load your main window bitmap into it
Specify what colour you want to show as transparent, in your case lime green
Click GO!
Save Region data to region.txt
add the region.txt to your skin file
party like it's 1999!
