Current song - help
My friend is trying to set up on my web-site the current song currently playing on my radio station. However, he does not know how. He says he needs to log in to my admin account but I don't know how this all works and all. I'm sorry if this was already covered, if it was please direct me in the right direction to set up the current song for my web site.

seems like your friend needs to log into your host. I would contact your host about those questions.
If he does need to log into DNAS .... then the address is: http://your_ip:8000/admin.cgi ... the username is 'admin' and the password is what ever you set it to in the config file (if you did nothing, then it is still 'changeme' and you really ought to change that!). edit: if you really want current song stats, then check these out: http://www.streamsolutions.co.uk/index.php?page=scripts ... those are easier, but require php. Cheers! |

Trouble Understanding
We're having real difficulty understanding how to get the current song playing to display on our web site. Does anyone have any basic instrcutions on how to do this?
The site is built using Microsoft Front Page. We've attempted to paste the codes available on some of the sites that are linked, but can't seem to get it to work. If anyone can offer some very simple steps to do this or is willing to do it for us, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! |

Well, you need PHP running on your server.

PHP
We use yahoo as our hosting company. Is there an easy way of having PHP run on the server OR do you know of any code that would not require PHP?
Thanks for your help! |

Bad News
OK...just got off the phone with Yahoo! They informed me that the version of Yahoo! Web Hosting that we use does not support PHP. Any other way we can do this?

Thanks!
Thanks for the help Jeffy! We were able to set it up so that it would come up in a pop up.
Two small questions... 1. Is there any coding we can add to change the TITLE at the top of the window? It says TITLE OF YOUR PAGE HERE 2. Is there any coding we can add to change "Before that you heard" to "Last 9 songs" or something else? Thanks again for all of your help! |

Ok - you can now use this:
gwjumps.com/misc/playing.php?host=YOUR_IP_HERE&port=YOUR_PORT_HERE&title=YOUR_TITLE_HERE&text=YOUR_TEXT_HERE&refresh=NUMBER You can specify your title and the text message you want to appear above the previously played tracks. You can also specify the refresh rate in seconds, but it has to be atleast 60, or it will just default to 60 (The page will refresh once every minute) ENJOY! and let me know if it works the way you want it to
