My monthly rant:

I know it looks cool to have your station info displaying "live" on forum pages and the like, but as a sysadmin, that's a sure way to super-load an otherwise powerful server and DNAS -- Everytime you comment on a thread, your sig will load your [hosts] HTTPd, PHP interpreter, and your DNAS with a request for info, everytime the thread is viewed by anyone, including yourself. Most of the posting sig scripts output an image, which is a bit more expensive in every way than plain and HTML text.

If you're actually in a conversation, your script will have to rum maybe 10 times before the thread can be displayed completely.

It's just not a good idea (however "fly" it is). I wouldn't want to be the host admin responsible for keeping that stuff under control.
