After listening to Humphries, I am reminded of a certain government lackey from V for Vendetta.
He does have one or two salient points but almost everything else is illogical and reflects a lack of understanding of the issues I outlined previously. Here's another thought: if he was not affected in one way by the prior demonstrations, why then should he care what the outcome is if the long term solution should address the macroeconomic issues? No need to answer, I just thought it was interesting. He also references China sponsoring some events, and it was not unexpected given they are owed a lot of money by this country and they have a vested interest in seeing that long term debt be paid. Hell if you owed me several trillion dollars I might be more in your face than that. What I thought was interesting is that this is one of the first times China has come out to show their support for a solution (immigration) to this country's future economic problems. Shakey your assessment was dead on and policy makers, the Fed et al have been trying to come up with an integrative solution. We just have to be open minded and realistic or the next generation will have to take it in the shorts. We will see how well it plays out. |
