Skin Capabilities Questions.

I was working on my first skin and came across a pair of little issues, but even though I've looked around a bit, I can't seem to find the answers for it.

1) Is there a pluggin for Winamp Classic that lets one use pngs instead of bmps? I want to have certain parts (buttons, sliders, etc) translucent, so that one can tell they're there, but they don't completely block what's behind them. I also want text to have a clear background instead of a solid background.

2)Is there a way to get a background image behind all that text on the playlist? When I have my playlist open, I typically have it open enough to show 16 songs. I want an image behind the songs list, because it's a rather large area that'd look nice with a subtle, lowish-contrast image.

1) Yes, it's called Gen_FF.dll , comes with every full install of winamp and does everything you want, you'll have to call your skins 'modern' however....

2) Yes, as described above, limited though...
