First of all, my computer skills are extremely basic so please bear with my computer illiteracy.
I downloaded winamp to play my mp3 files that I downloaded from napster. It worked very well but somewhere along the line my computer shut down on me, while downloading songs. When I linked back onto napster and winamp, I was no longer able to play the files. In Winamp, it will place the song titles and playlists on the screen but it won't play the songs. It just says 0:00 even when I push the "play" button. I tried a CD and that worked fine but not my mp3 files. Pease help.

hit ctrl+p. under plugins -> input, select nullsoft mpeg decoder. press configure. make sure the extension list is set to MP3;MP2;MP1 . does that work?

It sounds like it might be a problem with the output plugin. In winamp, go to OPTIONS -> PREFERENCES -> PLUGINS -> OUTPUT and select Nullsoft Waveout plugin. Now try to play an mp3.

If this doesn't work, go back into ...-> OUTPUT, and select the Nullsoft Directsound plugin. If neither of these work, post back here.

if by 'my computer shut down' you mean crashed then those files are gone. this is obviously the case cuz WA dont make mistakes.

exit to dos and type this fdisk/mbr
NOOOOOOOO!!!! sorry, my fingers were temporarily posessed by the devil! (that happens a lot around the chicks, very odd)

this is what you do:
-find those files on napster again (before you have to pay for it)
-pull em (dl em, download them, whatever you're familiar with)
-thow 'em into winamp
-hit play

tada! you be jammin' wit the latis' manson (or spears, or AC/DC or kenny logins (logens?)) before you know it.

MP3's 'not playing'

This happens because the MP3's was probably not done downloading... an mp3 file can play while its downloading and when its complete, but when it has "transfer error" (which would happen by a suddon shut down) the MP3 is corupt or incomplete. so it will not play! delete the files that will not play and then download them again from napster!

PS: my napster handle is: yucksolebrother

yeah, i do tend to ramble on. i guess it's something i should work on but i'm not really worried about it. you know what i mean? 'cuz i like, you know say what i want but some people think i add too much junk in with the info.

their was this one time where i was answering this post on usenet where the thread was just a simple poll something like 'which chick would you do?' and everyone else was like first name only but i had to go individual by individual as to what reasons i could come up with and...

oops, i did it again. (hey is that phase copywrite protected?)

my homepage? where? you talkin' to me?

sike! yeah we've been working on it for like too long. it was a warez site last year but macromedia caught up with us so that's over. i thought mp3z but that's been done... we may simply leave it the way it is and make it a simple 'links' or personal pages for our friends. most people i know mail me tring to get past the 'squared' page.

hey, i like the blue, oknas.com was going to be blue but i lost the vote (1 to 2). i don't aim (sorry) and dude i think =w=eezer is the *coolest* band ever! aside from the doors or flk (local band).

speaking of local, i live in sc.
you're in ga.(yeah, you knew that...)
...rambling again...
