Searching for a Function / PlugIn: Fade down Volume while other Audio

Hello everybody!

I'm currently searching for a function / plugin:

I want to hear my music as loud as I want.
When I'm using Ventrilo / Teamspeak and a message comes in I do not understand it cause my music is too loud.

Is there a chance to level down the volume as long as another sound like an incoming message is played?

Do you know what I mean?

Not sure exactly what you want, but you can lower the preamp setting on the equalizer.

[Edit]On rereading your post, you want something that will automatically lower your music's volume while the message comes in? I don't know of anything just now.

Yes, I do. If your talk-app has a plugin interface
that notifies you of start/stop of talking then it should
be possible to write a plugin for that program telling
Winamp to not be so loud.

too bad tracerh was a bad apple and got TEH BANNED and
Luzzifus2 was rude enough in the thread to sorta get him to stop dev'ing it before he got banned.

this is the only one of its kind as far as i know.. and the plugin database is broke so its a little hard to browse.

Oh, I'm sorry about that case.
They where on the right way I think.

I think its "simple" a function like "giving the winamp process a lower priority on the soundcard". So every sound output (Ventrilo, Skype, Teamspeak) levels down the volume of winamp.

hello guys,

i have found a external programm to do this with teamspeak.
you will find the download under:

Downloads -> Tools -> Sound -> TS-Chatter

I haven't tested it yet.

But is there maybe someone who knows a plugin or programm which can do the same function with Ventrilo? Or any dev?
