Dell Notebook's Media Direct Buttons nonfunctional... help!

ever since I downloaded Winamp to my new dell notebook and made it my main media player, my 'media direct buttons' on the bottom face of the the notebook won't operate. They worked before when I used the default player system... Please help me regain use of them by still using Winamp...

Have you tried the Global Hotkeys plugin coming with Winamp?

Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Global Hotkeys
