Unsupported format. HELPPPPPPPP

Please help me. i have the latest winamp used on a windows ME computer. I have used winamp for ages to play mp3 files. It has suddenly stopped working and says 'unsupported file '( i have not cjanged the format of the music files). when i treid to use it yesterday it said 'file already exists, do you wish to overwrite it?' when i pressed play. Now the timer moves along the bottom at jerky intervals while no music is comming out. Help what do i do. Any advice is much appreciated. thanks alot

Go to Options > Preferences > Plugins > Output and select WaveOut instead of diskwriter.
