Get album & artist from directory
Hello !
I have been searching all night for a way to get album and artist info from the directory of the file. My MP3 are sorted like this : .../artist/album/title.mp3 I've searched in the ATF commands, in lot of plugins ... No way I can't find it and I can't believe there's no way of doing it :/ Thanks in advance for help ! PS : I don't want to bother with tags. Sorry for my average english. |

Winamp does have an option to guess metadata from the filename/folder, however it doesn't allow for much configuration:
Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Media Library > tab Watch Folders > click 'Configure' button Basically you can only choose between Smart and Simple, you'll have to see what works best... More options has been asked for before and is in the Wishlist: Quote:

I saw this option, but didn't work well :/
No plugin can allow to do that ? It's weird that after that much time winamp exists, this option is not yet implemented

Not that I know of...
But I don't understand why you wouldn't use tags. Especially seeing that all your files are already organized in folders. It's really easy to tag files based on the folder/filename, any good tag editor has an option to do this. Some good ones are listed here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....62#recommended But it's up to you, of course... |

Yeah, it's true that tagging isn't too hard, but have to do that each time I have a new album, and it has no more advantage that the way I use to sort mp3.
But I think i'll have to do that for now Thanks for help siebe83
