Looping quits after a few minutes...
I live in a stupid student villiage, so it's usually quite noisy, and because of my positioning I can't really heard the wind.
So I downloaded a number of wind/rain samples, put a queue of 80 4-20 second samples, set the crossfade to about 8, and let it all play, infinitely randomly looping, to help me sleep. I've left it on for days at a time(when I forget to turn it off rushing home at the weekends in the morning) and it's been fine. But lately, after about 15 minutes, it seems to cut out. This is incredibly infuriating as it's the main thing I use WinAmp for. I've tried removing some tracks, adding more, changing the crossfade, changing the bugger, just about everything I could think of. Whatever's causing this, is possibly also causing slowdown on my computer. I previously had some serious problems with my computer which cut framerates in games by half, as well as slowing down explorer. When I installed Service Pack 2, this went away. Now it's getting slow again; My Computer can take up to 20 seconds to load up. This doesn't happen on my Dad's computer. I don't know for sure if that's causing it though, but it could be a virus/spyware/trojan that's doing it. Adaware didn't pick anything up, but I haven't run a virus checker as I have ot update it, and the college firewall(stupidly) blocks it out unless it's Norton, which I also had but it "ran out". Please help. |
