I've re-typed it soooo many times... Is something setup incorrectly that might cause this over and over again? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. apemeat |

Yes... I changed that password to my own and I've even gone so far as to copy the password from the config file and paste it into the SHOUTcast Source password box.
I quickly browsed those tutorials and guides and didn't see much of anything about this... It seems like no matter what I do, it says that the password is incorrect. Is there anything that might be triggering this beyond just the password being wrong? apemeat |

The password can't be wrong
it's just a copy/paste job from the config file of the server -change password , kill server , restart server , fill in password in the box called password (2e tab dsp) and it works. |

try putting in 127.0.0.1 for the address instead of localhost.
This, of course, assumes that you are streaming from the same box that you are serving from (dnas and the winamp dsp are running on the same box). |

well ....
make sure the config file you changed the password in was saved; make sure you restart the server after changing it; make sure there are no funny spaces in the dsp when you enter your password. You could also start with a stock config, thrwo in changeme and see if that works. If that does not work, then things have really gotten hosed up. If that does work, then you have gotten something a little incorrect... |

did you leave the ; infront of Password or AdminPassWord? you ned to remove the ; the SEMICOLON is a comment, so if you have something like ;Password=mypassword its ignored!
Also you can not have Spaces in the password like Password=my password Good luck. ~D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |

please post the line of the config showing your admin password so we can have a look.
if you have removed the ; then make sure you have restarted the server also. |

the password needs to be on a line by itself! what you posted was a comment feild. You may have not read what I all ready posted. the ; in front of anything in the sc_serv.ini file is ignored and is just a comment.
; this is a comment Password=mypassword AdminPassword=myadminpassword both those lines would work ; blah blah password=newpassword would not. get it? ~ D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |

Alright... I've got that going now....
But.... I just have a real quick question... I'm trying to set up my Port Forward stuff and I followed all the steps for the Static Ip but now I don't know what my actual Static Ip is or how to find it... Just wondering.... I have two computers here (routed together) and i basically only use the second one... so need I be on the "home base" computer in order for anything to happen when I type in 'http://ip.add.ress.here' ? Right now when I type it in, it just comes up with 'This page can not be displayed'.... etc, etc.... apemeat |

I got a dumb question, how did you setup a STATIC address, cuz you would know what is it if you setup the computer...
start - run - cmd (gets you to a dos window) ipconfig /all viola! However for sc_Serv if you have server and winamp on the same computer use ANY or 127.0.0.1 for the IP address in winamp if you need to know what your address is on the internet side www.whatismyip.com will show you that. That internet address is for listeners and may not work for you, which is totaly normal and cool, use the address you got from ipconfig /all Next time click on START, HELP in windows and it will walk you through windows networking setup, and google too.. Good luck ~ D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |
