Please Help Me Before I Throw Out My Computer

hiya guys, im really struggling with this SHOUTcast malarky!

At first i wasnt able to be seen from other people on the internet as i received the NAK error....now i have solved that problem that the error does not appear.

I send the ""http://192.168.0.5:8000"" to a contact on msn trying to get them to listen to my station and yet they cannot access it :S

If you need any information in order to help me i will gladly give you it! I have been at this for 5 hours now :|

All i want is for my site to be on Shoutcast.com and for listeners to listen to it.

any help very much appreciated

chris

Right my situation now is that I can Get my channel on Shoutcast.com

http://www.shoutcast.com/directory/?s=chris%20love

(only shows up when on air of course!)

But now when someone clicks on tune in it does not seem to allow them to listen to my songs :S

any help on that 1?

chris

http://192.168.0.5:8000/ -- This will only work for you... 192.168.*.* and IP's like that are given out by your router.

Find your internet IP here: http://djspinnercee.servehttp.com/cgi-fx/bitrate -- your IP will be displayed at the top of the page. That is the IP you must give to others.

Others who cannot listen may be using older versions of Windows Media player, or their PC is not set up to listen to streams -- WinAMP, iTunes and RealPlayer always work.

http://81.179.75.115:8000/ -- says "Server is down" meaning there is no source connected right now. That's a good thing because it means we all can see it.

If you have trouble connecting to the public IP from your PC (LAN), your router may not allow you to do it (a "Security Feature" of many broadband routers/modems), but rest assured, if you are in the directory, and the test app. can see it, your listeners will too.

ya I checked too. server is up, but no source like winamp feeding it, so you get ERROR 401, resource not available

search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn.

It is connected to WinAmp because i can play music and it connects and when i go to the shoutcast directory it shows what song is on

The only thing not working is the Tune In part and the "/listen.pls" page!

help!

Well if you are connected to the DSP, and we are getting error 401, then you gave us the IP address of another shoutcast server that doesnt not have a source connected.

You do not need to post another new message asking for help either!

Its not live support, since its a forum ..
