.m3u and .pls files....difference?

This is a question about AOL Radio with XM.
OK, bear with me...I'm a newbie.

When listening to some of my favorite XM music channels....I would like to save some of them.

1.) I'd like to make a desktop Icon that I can click on and have Winamp open to that channel.

2.)I'd like to create some listings in the "Media Library" under 'Playlists'....so I can click between a few different channels.

Can someone tell me how to do these?

Also, when it comes to streaming audio, such as AOL/XM....what is the difference between a .m3u and a .pls file? Wouldn't they be the same thing for streaming audio?

I am using ver v5.13
(I tried the newest version but had trouble finishing the install.)

Thanks!

1) Load the channel in the playlist editor, and save the playlist on the desktop. Or save the playlist somewhere else and create a shortcut to that playlist and place the shortcut on the desktop.

2) Create a playlist and put the channel you want in that playlist? Or do you mean something else?

In your case it doesn't really matter what format you use, I guess...

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
