static sound...

Whenever I try to play a song in Winamp, I get this horrible static like the sound you get when your speaker's blown. I know it's not my headphones, because I've used other mediaplayers and they work just fine, but needless to say I prefer Winamp...
It happened when I played a .wma file on it the other day, after that I started to get the "static sound", even with the .wma file.

Pleeeease help!

Try these DirectSound output tweaks.

Also check your equalizer settings (Alt+G) and whether you have a DSP/Effect plugin running:
Prefs (Ctrl+P) > DSP/Effect > select (none)

If no luck, please confirm you're using the latest version of Winamp: 5.21.

More info would help as well:

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

RE

Hmm.
Tried all of that.
I think I'll just resort to what I usually do, re-installment.

Thanks anyway!
