WINAMP CRACKLES

Y WHEN I PLAY A SONG IT CRACKLES .... THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME I PLAY A DIFFERENT SONG AND ITS WITH ALL THE VERSIONS OF WINAMP ... I RUN OFF A FAST 400MHZ PII COMP WITH 128 MB SDRAM AND A 32BIT NVIDIA RIVA TNT 3D CARD ...
I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A SOLLUTION FOR THIS CRACKLING SOUND...
PLEASE SOMEONE REPLY AND TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG AND WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO FIX IT

Well i used to have this problem as well and i mucked about a bit with the Winamp Wav out and Direct Sound out settings.. normally changin Direct Sound from primary to ur sound card sorts the problem other things to do are increase max block size and decrease min block size. The priority of it also changes things i believe so make it time critical it shouldn't affect the cpu too much but maybe this depends on the Sound Card ur using ... i use a Creative PCI128 in win2k and now it works fine when changin windows and scrollin etc when it used to crackle

This is NOT a Winamp error btw its just settings as usual. Another problem could b a IRQ conflict between ur Sound Card and Video Display Adapter if they are the same then the Video Card would possibly try and use memory from the Sound Card to run...Hope this solves your problem u can always email me deejayevil@crosswinds.net :-) plz reply and tell me if this fixed your problem...

have been told this problem is due to my windows system...everytime i play a mp3 song download through napster, and played on winamp, or windows medi aplayer, or others, the song comes out crackle or staticy or not clear and sometimes skips..Also when i try to do other things on my computer while the song is playing such as clicking on an icon on my desktop or sufing the web the song freezes or crackles or skips, etc...what may be causing thsi proble, help me in nayway thank u.i have a 128 ram 30 gb and athlon 900mghz
