Ok guys, I'm a very simple lady. I don't go for complicated things. I want to press a button and play my music. In short, we got a new computer and I had reinstall Napster on the new machine. When I did this, my music would not play without downloading Winamp. So I did.
Now, the song comes up, it zips through the minutes of the songs in two to three seconds and I get no music. Could you please help me.

Sound like you have the Diskwriter plugin selected.

Go to the Winamp preferences (Control + P) then from the list on the left select Plug-ins, Ouput and select Nullsoft waveOut plugin from the list on the right. Usually at th etop of the list. That should fix it.

similar audio cd problemo

Maybe Matt can help me too. With my Windows cd player, I get the problem of each song "zipping" through in 1 or 2 seconds. In Winamp, it plays in real time, but with no sound. This just started happening out of the blue. The output plug-in Matt suggested above is selected in my preferences, as it always was. I can't for the life of me figure out what changed to make me no loger able to listen to audio cds through winamp, or the windows cd player for that matter.

I do have something called 'gamut' that seems to play cds just fine, but I REALLY prefer winamp and would like to keep using it. . .

Help!

Go to Windows Volume Control
Make sure that the CD Audio volume is up high enough & not muted.
If there is no cable from your CD Drive to soundcard then you might be able to use the CDReader plugin instead of the default one. The CDReader plugin can be found here:
