AIFs again
Hey! Winamp 5 DOESN'T PLAY AIFs unless they have the full extension .aiff - someone posted this bank in September '94 but it's been ignored, but it's a pretty serious bug guys EVRYTHING I have that isn't .mp3 is .aif, and I can't be arsed renaming them.
Apparently if I put the dlls from an old winamp into winamp 5 then it'll play them but i'm sure this isn't too advisable since by winamp 5.22 this could cause some erratic behaviour... Can you sort this out guys, or give me a fix? I don't want to use WMP... |

calm down, IT PLAYS .aif, but you must add this (1) to the extension list of in_wave, and (2) enable it in the winamp file associations list!
How to do this: Preferences --> Plugins --> Input --> Nullsoft Waveform decoder (dbl click) --> enter AIF in the box to add it. Then click ok, close everything and restart Winamp. Then go to Preferences --> General --> File types and select the entry "AIF", which shoulg show up in the list now. Then close and restart Winamp, to register the extension. Then, dbl clicking on a .AIF file, should play it in Winamp properly - at least on my PC it DOES! Best regards, kzuse |
