I also fixed some stuff in ml_pmp, but never added them to the whatsnew. Bad will, bad.
* Fixed: [ml_pmp] Syncing duplicates finally fixed (thanks gordol) * Fixed: [pmp_ipod] Playlist sort now works again * Fixed: [ml_pmp] Removing items from a playlist not saving issue (thanks Nick) I _promise_ I will pick up the development pace on the portables stuff soon, I have just been finishing university. Ooh, there is a special hidden treat for you guys. If you add the line "TrueSync=1" under "[ml_pmp]" in your winamp.ini, you will have the option of deleting files not matching your sync query when you hit sync. This feature will be filled out properly very soon. DO NOT PM ME WITH TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS |

Yeah, great. The fast layer EQ is now off by default. Thanks benski!
It proves that constantly nagging the developers helps

So, the Standard install is returning with 5.23, or is that a beta-only thing?

Feature wishlist for the next winamp versions:
- Make the installer handle the new ML plugins as well(ie allow to diable "now playing" there). - Finish the pmp_usb thingie. eeeee eeeeeee eeeee eeeee eeeee 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 88 8eee8 8e 8 8 8eee8 8e 8 8 8 88 8 88 8 8 88 8 88 8 8 8 88 8 88 8 8 88 8 88 8 8eee8 |

Instead of purple junk, there is now a big ugly Green "image not found" bitmap in the modern skins that were broken by 5.22. Also scroll bars in the ML now seem to have the same problem.

Hahahaha, it's a build number! A build number!
You'd rather have a buggy 5.22, instead of a more stable 5.23 that happens to have a certain build number. That's just, well, your choice I guess

Ahh... reminds me of the days of Winamp 2.666.
We are going to get a 5.666 I sure hope. |

little error in gen_ff.dll:
map.getWidth() and map.getHeight() are working well if there is a image found, but if there isn't one (that means if you are looking for a image and want to detect if this really exists, eg cover.jpg) both functions return 64 instead of 0! Not a big bug, but would nice if it is fixed! and to all the comments above: better a beta prerelease with lots of bugfixes instead of 5.22 with lots of bugs! Quote:

do you think to support languages. Its good for localization.
And will you support the format mp4. For example i record something on my mobile phone, mp4, when i open it on my PC i get only the sound... |

What literate person translated installation on russian language - a heap error, look not possible without tears - send me english file and I shall translate You ideal all. Leave as it is presently inadmissible - after such seen installation not to want to use program in general - if even in installation such baby errors that will further - in final version it is necessary be corrected

AToM1: there already are language packs though there's been talking of altering the way it's all done to cover the preferences, etc that are added by other plugins (like the jtfe plugin could do before i disabled the feature since i haven't had the time to update the language support).
and i believe there's been talk about video based mp4 files though i'm not too sure on what came of that if anything. SamLab: the russian translation was done by the russian winamp developer so i'd have thought his translation would have been good (i know his english translations can be a bit funny at times but that's not happening as often now, heh) -daz |

Thanks for the new release chaps! Lots of bugfixes - the ml_local crash on close was an important catch.
![]() I'm curious about the corporate/admin issues however - is the terrible Omen remake distributed by Time Warner by any chance? I must say, I'm really loving these ultra-fast WinAMP startups - a pint to whoever had the idea of splitting up the ML into separate components! i understand what you mean since that's how the jtfe translation was/is being done. as i said, there's been talk about improving the language file support for a future version, just when and how is not clear and how it will be done

Installer: Portable Media Player support can't be unchecked, only greyed out (without any sub-items selected). I installed over old 5.22 and had no pmps installed then either.
Maybe it's just a cosmetic thing. Anyone can confirm ? Noone noticed ? It's not only the build 666 on 06/06/06, its even 5.23!! (five is 2+3) Illuminatis everywhere! Aaargh.

that's a known issue with the installer and will be fixed at some point, just not for this build from what i've been told (since i don't want ml_pmp being installed all the time since i have no use for it)

I've been told of two issues that prevented a release, the first as an invalid url giving a 404 somewhere, and the second was that QA had yet to signoff on it, and deppy wont upload without signoff.
Corporate issues maybe, but certainly nothing ominous; just looking out for you people. As egg has already stated, the final will be released in due time and will pretty much just be a "last minute changes" release (nothing big or it rocks the QA boat too much). Any big show stopper you have now will obviously alter that, but any normal bugs will probably have to wait till 5.24. |
