Plugin possibilities?

Is it possible to write plugins for the following purposes:

- a different output renderer. A direct show filter for a
videocard that will output the signal instead of the graphics card

- scheduling of a playlist to a timeline (time to start and to stop for every clip etc)

- a plugin that will overlay graphics or text on the videoclips ?

Do you want to send the video signal to a tv?

Just make sure your're using latest graphic drivers and your card has a video out.

VLC can render video using Direct3D or OpenGL and even to a series of image files if you so wanted. You can also specify the device you want it displayed on. VLC also has a marquee and a logo filter.

You might also be able to do this with ffdshow but I'm not sure how you would set that up.
