Why isn't there a Mac verison?

I am an old time Winamp user, 6+ years. I have recently switched to the Mac platform because it is the new-media industry standard, and that's what I'll be going into as a career.

So, I open my new Mac up when it arrives and deck it out with all of my favourite software... and then I tried to get Winamp.

I want to know why Nullsoft, AOL, or whomever didn't bother developing a Mac verison. Winamp is a great peice of software --a whole lot better than iTunes. It was very unwise, making that decision. Nullsoft cut them selves off from a large group of users by doing this. Hell, I can't even use the old Winamp beta, as it isn't compatible with OS X.

Is anyone else as angered about this as I am?

-Derek

edit: Hell, I can't even use the old Winamp alpha, as it isn't compatible with OS X. --I think alpha was as far as they got, am I right or wrong about that?
