Winamp Module Listing Bug

Hi,

I noticed this bug around 5.2x ?
Maybe earlier...

It plays music modules fine (eg .xm .it .mod files), however it is not listening them now when when you have show all supported file types.

It only shows it now when you manual select 'music modules'.
This is really annoying, could someone verify this for me and hopefully please fix it!

Thanks!!
Rob

FAQ

Problems with 'All Supported Filetypes' in Open File Dialog
(eg. it either shows all extensions, or some supported types are missing)

Note, mod extensions are at the end of the list, therefore you'll need to get the list down to under the 260-char limit if you want mod's to be listed under 'all supported'.

Hi,
i actually searched the forums before posting this and saw your same reply to this in the past.

I don't think this is an acceptable solution, since each time you update your winamp you must repeat this extremelying annoying process

and in the first place users shouldn't have to do it at all.

Can there be a better fix? Especially since users like myself have gotten used to it working from before.

It's a Windows issue, not a Winamp issues though. And you can only really work around Windows issues.

Windows has a 260 character limit on the extensions for the Open dialogs.

Windows limitation, dude. Windows. Don't blame Winamp.

[EDIT] --> Sorry, drewbar. Didn't know you were posting at the same time I was.

Not if you just upgrade (ie. install straight on top of the previous installation). Or do you do a clean install every time or something? And if so, why?
