Playlist cycles but does not play

I am sure it is me but after creating and saving a playlist when I go to play a title all that happens is that the cursor just goes to each song in turn but does not actually play any of them?? If I go to the actual directory it plays all of them no probs
as I say, prolly me, I have hunted the forums for the same thing but haven't as yet found it.

Ta muchly

Did you move/rename the files after you created that playlist? If so, the playlist is still pointing at the old file locations and thus won't find the files.

Right-click a file in the playlist > View file info...
Is the path at the top correct?
Is the tag info displayed, or does it say 'No file'?

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

Thanks for that, I assumed that if you imported the playlist and resaved it that it would still find the files. Now that the problem has been found do I have to recreate all of my playlists again??? I have moved the files onto another drive and the directory etc has obviously changed.

Once again ,thanks

Before trying the suggestions below, you may want to make a backup of your playlists in case things go wrong.

If you right-click the playlist in Windows Explorer > Open with > Notepad, you can use Notepad's Find/Replace feature to replace the old paths with the new paths.
Eg. find and replace 'C:\Music' with 'D:'.
This of course is only useful when you moved all files from one location to another (and not when you moved some files to a certain folder and moved some other files somewhere else).

Another thing you could try is Dynamic Library's playlist repair feature. It's explained here:

(plugins database is borked again, you can download DL here)

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
