switching stations and crashing?

ive used winamp for awhile, but since dled the 5.1 version and on up, i've noticed that if i pick a station right after i start it up, the second as well. but wen i pick a 3rd different station, it errors out, eating up some of cpu for a second or two then finally closing. it was manageable and i dint mind, but now it's just irritating. could any1 possibly lend a hand?
