Fucking Paycheck

I was supposed to get a $1.50 raise over the summer. I go to check my bank statement today ( I have direct deposit enabled) and I see a deposit of much less than I expected. After grabbing a piece of paper and pen, I calculated that either my taxes more than doubled for some reason over the summer, or the tax rate stayed exactly the same and I was paid at the old rate. Damn it!

doesn't that much of a raise ALWAYS move you into the next tax bracket? :P

btw just like to say, i don't pay taxes, and proud, in fact your taxes pay me.

This wouldn't happen if you register as a Republican.

You've not been paid at the new rate. Taxes don't work in a way which would reduce your pay to the same as it was before.

Maybe they passed the law but its not enacted yet.

All the guards around here working on Pineridge property finally got a raise. From $6.00/hr to $6.50/hr. My latest payday was 80hrs for two weeks, though two hours were holiday pay (time and a half: $9.75 hr). Net pay was $422.49. My next payday is on the 30th, and should be a standard 80hrs at $6.50.

Though I did get 8 hrs overtime this week (time and a half, also). Extra $78 (before taxes).

Figured out what it was. It was me not realizing when the pay period started and ended. Forgot about those days I took off and about memorial day. :\
