Did you look in all your pockets?

seriously, if you saved your playlist within the winamp folder, they are probably gone. You should save music files and playlists in another folder, preferably another partition/hard drive.

I`m lost without my playlists I have over 10,000 music files and made all of my playlists of my favorite picks in winamp.I do have all the files saved on an external hard drive, but made all my playlists in winamp. I guess I`ll have to go through all that music again and start all over again.

What do you mean by lost? Are the playlists files (.m3u .pls) gone from the hard drive? Are you talking about "regular" or ML playlists. Maybe this...

If you didn't back them up there's a good chance they're gone. As Wildrose-Wally said, always backup/save your playlists to a folder outside of any Winamp folder(s). I save all my playlists to separate folders outside any Winamp folders. I can never lose them that way.

Same exact concept as is used when uninstalling anything in Windows really. If you uninstall and or uninstall/reinstall something, and you do not back up the files/work you saved, you stand a pretty good chance of losing everything. How to back up? Save to a folder(s) outside of the application.

In addition, also read through the 2 threads JonnyMac linked to above.

In the Full Uninstall -> Reinstall procedure (aka: clean install), in the first section, it explains how NOT to save playlists to the Winamp folder:
Quote:
1. Backup

Note: You don't need to backup anything if you don't want to.

i) If you haven't done so already, save your playlist to .m3u via:
Playlist -> List button -> Save
(mainly applicable to people who use one single large playlist all the time).
And do NOT save it to the Winamp folder.
