Static IP Promblems.
OK I can't have a statip IP from my ISP so i can't portforward. But i have a Router/Modem (Zoom ADSL X5) would it still be possible to let other computers connect to my server with my SHOUTcast without port forwarding. I know that whenever i reset my Router/Modem the IP will change but i will just keep it on! /so is it possible.

If you cannot port forward, then no. If you have a router, port forwarding must be set up on it for SHOUTcast (or any server) to work properly.

Ok I Will Take Some Steps To Tell You What To Do...
1. You Dont Need A Static IP (Il Explain In A Munite) 2. What Do You Mean Server You Said You Had A Modem (Zoom ADSL X5) So Why Do You Need A Server? 3. Go To Start And Click On Run. Type command And Click Run. A Window Should Popup Saying Somthing With A > At The End. Type ( ipconfig /all ) Then At The Bottom You Should Get Somthing Saying IP Address: 192.168.xxx.xxx Go On T You Router And Port Forward Ports (8000-8001) For More Info On This www.portforward.com Then When it Says Send To Address Or Somthing Similar Type The Ip Address Above ( 192.168.xxx.xxx ) And Then Go Onto www.whatsmyip.org And Copy The IP At The Top Of The Page. Then get A Friend To Go Onto That IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000 And Enter 8000. If It Works There You Go. BTW IF Your Router Doesnt Support local loopback Then you Wont Be Able To Access xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000 If You Want TO Moderate It GO Onto 192.168.xxx.xxx:8000 . Do All This And Make Sure The DNAS Is Running On Portbase 8000 And If You Dont Want The IP To Change visit... http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/statdns/ Happy Listening. If Theres Somthing Wrong Or I Have Mistook What you ment Please Post A Reply. |
