Media Library Display

I have 5.24 on Windows XP. After a video play, the Media Library will not display. Alt-L and clicking on Media Library in the drop down menu do not bring up the window, although the ML light comes on, and a check is shown in the drop down menu. Thanks for any help - I'm getting tired of re-installations and re-creating playlists.
