Tixoft Font Plug doesn't work?
Well I am trying to play song with Japanese titles. Winamp can play them, but it just won't display it properly when I set my Language for non-Unicode programs to use to be Japanese (It works when I used to make it Chinese, weird..).
Anyway the titles are being displayed as alien stuff. So I did some search and found that Tixoft Font Plug can do the job. I went to download it (http://www.jumbo.com/file/4062.htm), extract the dll into the plugins folder, and try to configure it but it doesn't work. I am using winamp 5.2. Whenever I change the font used in the Tixoft plugin, it doesn't make a single change to the font used in the title. I try making it bold/italic, changing to huge sizes etc it doesn't do jack on the title still. So it seems like the plugin isn't working at all. And yes I have enabled the plugin obviously... So does anyone know why? I am using a different skin, but I changed it back to winamp modern and it's still displaying the usual font used by winamp, not affected by tixoft. |

The Tixoft Font Plug is an ancient third party plug-in and no longer being developed or supported by the author. It only works with classic skins. Also, the link you provided is not the most recent version of the plug-in See this post for obtaining updates.
In addtion to the above, I am not sure if the plug-in will work with 5.2x versions of Winamp. FYI stuff... Winamp is not 100% Unicode compatible. Winamp was developed before Unicode became a fad. Full Unicode support (or at least something very close) is incrementally being implemented with future releases of Winamp. WA 5.2x (and higher) already some contains some additional Unicode code fixes and WA 5.25 (please don't ask for a ETA) will have some more. Please don't ask for an ETA for "full" Unicode support. For the display of Unicode titles/tags, there are some workarounds, but no guarantees... Quote:
