Nope, it sounds pretty average. However i usually run it at 640*480 32bit, doublepixel when fullscreen -gives me 30+fps, and 320*240 when i´m editing (windowed mode). also make sure that the performance slider is set to max...

P3-733
256 MB SDRAM
Geforce2 MX
winamp 2.72

That's why Giess and the like are superior. The only thing AVS is good for is running in a small window.

That's a bunch of crap Matt. Pure bullshit. I always run AVS at full screen and have no problem at all. And I don't have to use the Pixel Doubling either. It's all in getting the right full screen video mode, best suited for your computer. And you don't need 30+fps to enjoy most Presets. All of my Presets are designed to run Full Screen, and the optimal fps is anywhere from 10-20.

And I laugh my ass off, when I hear these big monster machines can't handle AVS. Poor babies.. My little P-2 233mhz, 64mgRAM Monster Machine plays those AVS presets with NO problem. And you know what, they are so damn pretty...

About 15fps at 320x240. Doesn't look good. Even on a 450Mhz 196Mb etc.

Don't know where you got that from. At those settings it's.. shall we say, not far from unbearable.

I agree, maybe I should fiddle with the settings more. Although, there's no need for fullscreen. I listen to mp3's while I'm on the internet and actaully ndon't need vis plugins.

As for AVS being better than Giess, I must disagree.

IDEA: create AVS presets that clone Geiss's look then compare what is faster.

AVS performance

Ok, The only reason i run it at 640*480 DBlpixel, instead of 320*240 whitout dblpixel is that my Gfx card (Geforce2) has smoothing in doublepixel, which makes everything look Waaay better.

That's the beauty of it..You can tweak it at whatever works best for your setup. Some people are too lazy to do that, but would rather just bitch.
