New 5G ipod install - best method?
Hi,
I just got a new 5G ipod. My question is which way is better to load my music library onto the portable. Use iTunes to load everything and build the ipod database? or Use Winamp? and if you do use Winamp? is the best route to transcode everything using the new plug in or just use the portable link? I have noticed that many folks originally had iTunes and then switched over to Winamp but wanted to hear if anyone had done a clean install with a new ipod and if there were any issues that cropped up. I did go through the "Winamp Portable Player Media Support" thread and noticed that folks started out fine using Winamp and then had random problems with artist disappearing and such... |

Are there any plans to implement a "format" option like you designed in the past?
You did say that a "sync all" function was in the works right? |

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to load the portable without having to download iTunes but alas... I guess you need something to build the initial database? |

Correct. You might be able to get the Apple iPod updater to do this if you click "Restore"
