Winamp has encountered an error and needs to close

I have been plagued with this error for about a month now. It seems to have very little rhyme or reason to it.

The most common occurance is when I enqueue a folder from the desktop to boot winamp. The file starts playing and then I immediately get the error. Interestingly enough, the file continues playing until the end of the track, then refuses to load the next one.

Sometimes, though, the error will surface at completely random times.

I'm running windows XP, a "classic" Opeth skin, and the only plug-ins I have of note are the Lionhead dancing bear from the black and white promo (those were the days!) and the Audioscrobbler plugin from www.last.fm.

I tried installing over my copy of winamp with no results. Do I need to uninstall it first?

Thanks for your assistance.

Yes Winamp seems to error mesage me also. however it seems to be only when i play songs with semi long filenames.

The annoying thing is it only ever happens to the same songs so it seems. also if winamp jumps to the song by its self it will play it but if i pause that song winamp wioll crash and burn.

I have done multiple fresh installs. i run my mp3's off my 2nd hdd however i dont see how this could effect it as i have been doing so for many builds w/o problem until about the 5 series builds

My error report is attached Please help!!

My specs are;
mobo - asus p4sgx-mx-uayz
cpu - 2.4 celeron
ram - 1024 ddr
hdd's - c:80, e:250 (music drive), g:320
sound - SB live 5.1 digital entertainment
graphics - 6800 nvidia
others - capture card, wireless
Os - Xp Pro
Winamp - 5.24 Bundle

anything i missed just ask!

You're running quite a few third-party plugins though... The Now Playing and the MSN plugin are the ones I would suspect the most. Have you tried a clean install without any 3rd-party plugins? (see instructions linked to above)
