Wonderful Winamp

The new computer came with WMP preinstalled and the sound was not great.
Trying to add a bit of bottom end I bought a cheepo speaker system (Tesco/pair of speakers and subwoofer for under £15.00)
The sound was much improved for a couple of days until I started to get high end break up and distortion.
I must have overdriven the speakers was by first thought until I cobbled together a replacement pair of speakers - with the same result.
Maybea the subwoofer is faulty. Ill get round to taking it back.
Later that day I'm sufing a bands' website with a streaming audio background when I suddenly realise that I am listening to perfect audio.
Un-installed and re-installed WMP with no improvement.
Lets try a different media player (I had always had Winamp on my first system)
RESULT; perfect audio playback on all my downloaded tracks.
Technically I have no idea why this should be but, boy,am I delighted with the outcome.
