5.08 radio list too short

I recently installed 5.24 up from 5.08 because only 30 of the radio stations were showing up in 5.08. I didn't like 5.24 at all (too much ActiveX/web things going on that ZoneAlarm doesn't like). I prefer 5.08 so I reverted back (actually I prefer earlier versions but no radio on some of them). How can I get the rest of the stations to show up in the list? Why did they show up several months ago in 5.08 but not now? If you refer me to another post for an answer please be specific. Don't send me to something that is general on this topic. I've already spent too much time trying to find an answer to this.

If you insist on using an unsupported older/bugged version, then all I can refer you to is this hack/workaround.
