Seperate Installer and Installer Data file

Hello,
Is there is a way of seperating an NSIS installer into an exe and a (data/script) file?

Ideally I'm looking to have the NSIS installer exe sit in a directory with my own software and everytime my software gets an update (data/script) file it calls the NSIS installer to process it.

I know there are ways around software updates using web install and patches etc, but the network access is restricted as is the software installed on the PCs, so these options are not possible for me.
