Web link problem!I'm going crazy, please help.

Hi everyone.I'll be quick.
I am broadcasting using Shoutcast and my dsl connection.
I'm also using no-ip free services so i can point a domain to my non-static ip.I did some port forwarding in my dsl modem and everthing works great!
Now,i made a webpage for my station, and i want to place a link to my shoutcast server,i use this code:

<a href="http://mystation.hopto.org:8000/listen.pls">Click Here to Listen</a>

and it's not working!! when i'm clicking on the link firefox says "connection refused...." so it can't open the link to my station. What can i do?can it be a problem from no-ip?do i have to do any port forwarding from my dsl modem?
also,I don't have any "listen.pls" file on my pc.
i also have read other ways to create the link but none of them worked.please help

So, when you paste "http://mystation.hopto.org:8000/listen.pls" into your browser addressbar and press enter, what happens?
If it's connection refused then you just have the typical router not allowing local loopback. It is the same for no-ip as your home ip connection. You'll need a person outside your local network to click it for you to see what happens.

when i type this http://mystation.hopto.org:8000/listen.pls in my browser,it says "connection refused.." .i have't yet tried to test the whole thing with a person outside my local network.i have used many services(like ftp) with no-ips free services and none of them was blocked...

Is that your proper link? If so I can't get to anything either!
Are you having any errors in your DNAS log? If localhost (127.0.0.1) works then maybe you're just not getting outside of your computer.

Yes it is working. You just can't access it from your computer as your router won't allow you to connect to your own IP. The no-ip address is a mask of your IP so you're having the same results (connection refused) as you would with your normal IP.

Send a message via AIM to SpankyXeon
One thing people forget is for security reasons a good router will not allow you to go out to the net and right back in to your own computer.

geoorge.

that links doesnt work, no shoutcast server on port 8000 at that address, most likely your port forwarding is not working. Check sc_serv.log for and error like NAK cant see your stations blah blah disabled nat/firewall blah...

other noobs in this thread. start your own messge thread and post the link to your station iscorp216, whats the link to yours? you ask to have someone test, but you didnt give a link in your message (start a new thread please)
