Shoutcast awful sound quality through Vdj

On my input meter on Shoutcast source, when using virtual DJ the Input Levels it stays at 0db. I can broadcast Vdj but the sound quality is terrible. Any idea guys? I asked over at Vdj forums and they said I should ask here

Thanks

are you using the winamp dsp encoder or the vurtualdj encoder.

if its the dsp then you need to make sure you have the recording mixer settings correct.

this tutorial may help.

if its the virtual dj encoder then we can only send you back to the vdj forums.

im using the winamp dsp encoder and also the recording settings are correct. but i believe that soundmax digital soundcards have caused a few probs for using winamp. also playing file through winamp to broadcast is crystal clear to outside listeners

any but soundmax

Ive use $5 generic made in tiawan cards or $200 soundblaster cards. or those build into motherboards. they all seem to work just fine for me.

Make sure that you are properly setting the level via your WinRecordMixer -- otherwise it won't matter what soundcard you have -- over/under modulation is not soundcard specific.

* Just like there's no crying in baseball, there's no automatic level control in soundcard mode.
