Radio Phone ins...
Hi everyone
I am just starting to look at the possibility of using Shoutcast to launch an internet radio station. One of the features of our station would be a phone in section of the show where callers would need to talk to each other. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how we could go about doing this and where we could get the necessary equipment from? I am in the UK by the way! Any help would be much appreciated! ouch $150 for that
![]() The show I help with we use cell phone with the headset jack connected to one of the channels on our mixer, and also a speaker phone with a mic next to the speaker (not great sounding). There are other devices that are designed to record phone calls when the hand set is 'off-hook', which you can also connect to a mixer channel. The draw back of those devices is they often hum because of the inpendance differences on the line. If you sign up with skype (voice over IP), you can for-go external devices and use the PC as the phone and have winamp DSP setup in soundcard mode and that would intercept skypes audio as well, the callers would call your skype phone number (not available with the free accounts). Have a good one. ~ D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |
