Is Shoutcast free?
Hi - Sorry, Im a complete novice and I just wanted to check that Shoutcast is free to broadcast on?
I really appreciate people taking the time to help - what an ace community

It is free to use Shoutcast, but if you want to play commertially available music legally, then you might want to search around these forums for info on licensing - not that many people bother..

It should have said 'commercially'
I probably didn't phrase it very well - I just mean music that someone else owns the copyright to. You will either need a license or permission from the label to play the music. If you are playing your own/friends music or hosting talk shows then there is no need for licensing.
