Winamp installing on windows issues

The winamp installer does not seem to create the winamp group in windows start menu for other accounts then
the account it is being installed from. Why ?

Where can I find explanations/short description about all installable winamp components, I don't know what i.e. winsoft agent can be used for ?

How can I install newer version over the already installed one without having to download the complete winamp installer ? "check for new versions on startup" doesn't seem
to trigger any activity in my installation.
While installing a new version over the installed one
both user choice dialogs (with components to be installed)
should be preset according to positions choosed in previous installation. Does the winamp installer support that ?

Sticky: FAQ > Winamp 5.0x Component List (full list/details of Winamp installation options)

Depends on what option you chose in the installer. If you chose 'shared settings for all users' then the Winamp program folder is created in the "All Users\Start Menu\Programs" dir. If you chose 'separate settings for each user' then it's created in the "%username%\Start Menu\Programs" dir instead. Well, that's the only explanation I can think of, because I've never actually chosen the 'different settings per user' option - so I'm just assuming that's what happens when you select it, heh.

Yes, the installer remembers your previous installation choices.

Hmm, I honestly don't understand what you mean here. You've gotta download the installer for the new version first if you want to install it. There's no other way to upgrade other than downloading the installer first. Unless you meant 'reinstall the new version again'? In which case, just run the installer again (assuming you haven't deleted it).

Winamp and Winamp.com doesnt currently support ala carte updates to components of winamp. Sadly, you must download the entire update and install.

One day in the future we'ed love to see a "app/plugin" level update so we dont have to wait until a major release version to fix minor bugs in plugins.

But it's not in the cards right now.
