Linking Shoutcast to play in all players
I have searched the forums and have not found anything to help me as far as how to place these files on my web site and on my server.
So I suppose i will post this topic and in hopes that someone can help with this please? So far I have not found a step by step instruction on setting up links on a website. I have followed the instructions as far as creating pls, asx, ram, m3u files using notepad with my configs (ip address, port) I have downloaded these links from Streamsolutions.co.uk and have set everything up correct?? But when i uploaded the files to my server and added a link to my webpage they do not work??? Is there a step by step on how to stream the broadcast from all players?? Cause I cant seem to get them to play even from different computers that have ...say "Real player, windows media player" My winamp works fine with the direct link http://ip ort/listen.pls but all others do not (asx, ram,Can anyone help? "play for yourself from your heart & soul and they will follow" |

You can of course just link directly to the server using the following format:
http://diva.wavestreamer.com:3815/listen.m3u ...This will work in pretty much any MP3 player you can throw it at. |

http://YOUR-IP-ADDRESS:PORT/listen.m3u will work.
To get ASX files to work, you might need to set the MIME type on your server (you can edit it easily if you have cPanel or similar) This works for me: MIME Type: video/x-ms-asf Extension: asx |

if you truly read EVERYTHING it would be working. the examples you downloaded from streamsolutions are only examples, you need to change the contents of these files to point to your stream address or hostname and correct port you have shoutcast running on. Also if your web server is APACHE you to setup the web server MIME types to know what to do with these links otherwise it just opens them as text. Search the forums for APACHE MIME types and shoutcast, you will find my post from a few months back with the correct mime types you can add to .htaccess on your Apache web server. step by step: EDIT THE FILES TO MATCH WHERE YOUR STREAM IS Upload them to your web server create the html page that displays these files/links for the users done. ~ D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |
